CUB WORLD 2004

Cub World is located on the Buck Hill Scout Reservation in Burrillville, Rhode Island, a 1,600 acre Scout Reservation.  Cub World and Buck Hill are two of eight camps owned and operated by the Narragansett Council.  The Council serves over 25,800 youth and their families in Rhode Island, the Southcoast of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts communities of Uxbridge, Bellingham, Millville, and Blackstone and Pawcatuck, Connecticut.  Other camps include Camp Yawgoog (Boy Scout Resident Camp in Rockville, RI), Cachalot Scout Reservation (Boy Scout camp in Myles Standish Forest near Plymouth, MA), Champlin (home to many Cub Scout Day Camps in Cranston, RI), Aquapaug (South Kingstown), Buxton (Rehoboth, MA), and Sandsland (Block Island).  For more information about the Narragansett Council please visit www.narragansettbsa.org .

Cub World, which opened in 1997, offers four “theme” areas:  The Pease High Seas Adventure; Bridgeton Castle; and the Wild West Dodge City.  The Tall Ships, Castle Keeps, and Mining Camp Bunkrooms all accommodate 48 campers.   State of the art facilities include flush toilets and warm showers.  Delicious meals are served in the open air dining hall and produced in the camp’s modern restaurant style kitchen.

Camp program activities include marksmanship at BB and Archery Ranges, aquatics in the Swimming Pool, Boating and Fishing at “Crater Lake”, Pedal Kart races at the Golden Nugget Speedway; and trail hikes based at the Nature Center.  The camp program is built around fun, age-appropriate activities that will satisfy various advancement requirements.  In addition, boys gain immeasurable self confidence as they master new skills and meet new friends.

Camp sessions are three day-two nights for all Cub Scouts.

The camp is inspected by the State of Rhode Island and accredited by the Boy Scouts of America.
